The Moggill Historical Society was formed in 2013 to research, preserve and promote the history and heritage of the Moggill district including, but not restricted to, the Brisbane suburbs of Moggill, Bellbowrie, Anstead, Pullenvale and Pinjarra Hills.

Meetings are usually every 3rd Tuesday of the month, 7pm, Moggill State School, Block B - Media Room, Mud Map Here.

The next general meeting at the School will be on January 17 at 7pm.  The guest speaker will be Judy Nissen.

It is intended to have a different speaker and topic or activity at each general meeting – see our Facebook page for more details. We would appreciate a gold coin donation at meetings to cover cost of Tea/Coffee/Nibbles.

Presenting the Moggill Historical Society's first publication

Moggill 150 Years Book

From its humble beginnings in the mid-1860s, Moggill State School survived plagues of white ants, the threat of closure due to low attendance numbers and a devastating fire to emerge as a flourishing school in the heart of a thriving community.
The 20th century saw the school gradually increase in size and celebrate both its centenary in 1966 and 125th anniversary in 1991. Moggill State School – Celebrating 150 years is an account of the history of the school from its opening in February 1866, and provides a written and photographic record of the events, people and students linked with the school from that time.
From the involvement of Moggill’s founding fathers, to biographies and photographs of famous, successful and influential former students. this thoroughly researched book is a fascinating read for anyone connected with Moggill State School.

Copies can be obtained from the school, price $25.

Proudly Supported by the Lord Mayor's Suburban Initiative Fund.
